Before You Adopt: The Puppy Reality Check
• Expectations vs. Reality: Puppies are wonderful, but they are also a lot of work. They require round-the-clock care, frequent potty breaks, and constant supervision.
• Patience is Required: Expect accidents, chewed items, and boundary-testing. Raising a good dog takes time, consistency, and a lot of calm patience.
• The Transition Phase: It takes time for a puppy to feel safe and settle into a new routine. Progress is rarely a straight line!
• A Long-Term Commitment: The time you invest today builds the foundation for the next 10 to 15 years.
